What we did:

Sword Apak has been developing, implementing and supporting global software solutions for over three decades. Twice a year, they host the Global Wholesale Finance Summit that brings together senior members of the wholesale finance industry to discuss the latest trends, concerns and advancements in the current market place.

For too long, they had been using the same outdated event website. They approached us to create them a new fully content-manageable event microsite, which would better reflect the grandeur of the bi-annual event. Armed with a set of brand guidelines, example content and a creative brief to design something with a ‘large dose of the wow factor’, we set about the task, with a short eight-week deadline looming (it’s lucky we work well under pressure).

The website is built on the WordPress CMS (Content Management System). Given the tight timescales, the WordPress website build needed to be swift, effective and flexible. To facilitate this, we introduced a drag and drop functionality, allowing the website owner to move modular content blocks around with ease. This provided them the power to change the structure of their website to suit future event requirements – adding longevity and usefulness to the design. Rotating blocks containing current testimonials, keeps the page fresh throughout. In addition to this, a template library offers further content modules which can be added to the page, enabling the page to evolve with the anticipation and build up to the event.

The main objectives of this microsite were to display the key information surrounding the event in an easy-to-navigate format, and make it super easy for people to register for the event whilst still allowing the graphics to shine. Opting for a concise, one-page concept, we were able to arrange the content into easy-to-digest blocks, breaking up text with impressive venue photography and highlight videos from the previous summit. We tastefully seasoned each section with prominent register call-to-actions which directed users to a short and easy to use off-site registration form. In fact they are so compelling that the site managed 20% more registrations on the previous year in the first three months.
