What we did:

Provek’s brief to Rouge was to create a modern responsive website that improves lead generation, acts as a catalyst for business growth, and brings in more desirable corporate clients.

The previous site suffered dated looks and functionality, and the navigation wasn’t as easy for the user as it should be. With so many courses by a variety of accreditors on offer, it was clear that UI and UX would be a key part of this project. The navigation was made simpler through the use of a mega-menu which broke down Provek’s offerings into more defined sections which allowed for easier navigation to a particular course.

The other important part of the project was a development of their logo. It was clear that a logo and brand refresh was also required but it should remain familiar. The letterforms of the logo were uncomfortable and the colours seemed flat, but it did feature a dominant tick in place of the ‘v’, which was a great icon to retain as it was a recognisable part of their brand. A progression inline with the desire for a more modern and approachable website was required, and so the tick was given a softer feel with the addition of a gradient on the ‘fold’ of the shape, and a new softer base font was selected and edited to give them something ownable. It was also more digital friendly and worked well on the website design.

The angle of the tick in the logo gave inspiration for the website design which used an overlapping angular style for the page background and image treatment. It was a striking departure from the old website and gave them new brand elements which could be adopted for marketing material. The course pages were very much information led and were therefore text heavy. It was important that these pages were clean and focussed on the content of the course, so therefore the angles were used considerately.

An additional page on the site was the shop, through which Provek could sell digital and hard copies of their publications and course material. This was linked up to Paypal Checkout, a very cost effective way to sell products online without the need for a weighty eCommerce engine, which would have been over-kill for the number of products that Provek sell.

The client was very involved in the content population and structuring of the site. We delivered a non themed, structural build for the client to add the content themselves and make the necessary changes to the navigation structure, which became necessary after a Provek service restructuring exercise during the project. This ensured that the site was future-proof by allowing the client full control over structure and navigation going forward.

This web site is built with validated HTML and CSS and is compliant to W3C WAI WCAG accessibility level A.
