We took a fresh approach to completely redesign the NIA website to make it a more streamlined and engaging user experience.

The NIA (Nuclear Industry Association) is a member body representing the civil nuclear industry in the United Kingdom since the early ’60s. It represents over 250 companies across the nuclear supply chain. It is at the forefront of promoting nuclear energy as an essential solution to help meet the UK’s clean energy needs through cleaner renewable sources.

With such a strong message to promote, the current site was confusing to use and did not promote them as an industry leader. We developed a new fresh contemporary look and feel to work with their existing brand to make the new WordPress website design more youthful and exciting. The aim was to help attract a broader spectrum, from existing members to younger people interested in nuclear energy. We achieved this by introducing a lighter colour palette and playful typography, giving the NIA a new brand and graphics toolbox.

One key element of the design was to improve the member platform for both existing and prospective members. To achieve this, we created ‘The Hub’, which is a single destination to access all NIA updates. Compared to previously having to search various locations across the site. To provide a further enriched experience for members, we designed a tailored ‘Member Hub’ which took them into even more detail to access bespoke member groups and events, alongside a comprehensive directory for all industry contacts. This came together to produce an agile WordPress website that is AA accessible and easy to use across all devices.
