Health and wellbeing for Bracknell Forest
Every council has to publish a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) document to monitor and support health and wellbeing. These are typically created as printed documents, however Bracknell Forest Council decided to take a different approach and be the first Council to publish the information online. The aim was to fulfil the requirement to publish, and to support the health of the community – with an easy-to-use information resource.
Uncomplicated access to information was the key for this website. With this in mind we got out our sketch pads and created a visual sign-posting system – using unique icons and colour coding for each area of the JSNA. We then developed a powerful site-search, with ‘quick find’ and ‘related content’ navigation. All of this was designed to help the visitors drill-down to the right content quickly and easily.
The site was built using the Drupal 7 CMS to allow for simple content management, while being able to manage a large volume of structured content. A big map of content with a powerful custom navigation system, developed to make creating and moving content around a simple task. Rouge continues to work with The Bracknell Digital Services Team to support the team and website.
