Two symbiotic websites, one Drupal core
Rouge was challenged to create a new website for the Greenham Common Trust and Greenham Business Park – two very different, but co-thriving organisations, blossoming on a reclaimed US air force base. Greenham Business Park is Newbury’s largest business park. Its role is to build and sustain existing business, attract new tenants and develop and the business community around the Park. The Trust is funded by the Park and, in turn, assists the community by providing financial support for charitable projects and causes.
In order to solve this conundrum, we looked to the problem itself, for the answer – and developed two websites, on one Drupal base, supporting each other. This enabled us to be efficient with build (saving time and money), to deliver one system for updating and maintaining content (making it easy to use), but two different websites for the two different sides of the organisation (delivering the full package).
These two websites have one other trick up their sleeve too; behind the scenes, again using our Drupal development skills, we delivered a full application management system for the Trust. It enables Users to apply for funding online, and to save and edit their progress before submitting. It enables the Trust to manage each application, share them with the funding team and make decisions online. We turned a convoluted paper and pen process, into one swift online application.
Rouge continues to work with The Park and Trust, providing technical support and ongoing website design and website development.
